The UK Employment Stats 2015 aren’t looking too shabby according to the latest official figures from the Office for National Statistics. The figures show that unemployment is falling, the number of people in work continues to rise and the growth of available vacancies is at its highest since records began.
Here are the stats:
What do these recent figures mean for job hunters?
The UK employment stats 2015 suggest that it is not a bad time to be looking for jobs right now given the growing number of opportunities available. Between January and March 2015 there were 743,000 jobs available, this is 124,000 more than the previous year. The outlook for job seekers is better than it has been in a long time!
With more available opportunities, employers are now having to compete harder to attract the best candidates to join their businesses. This is reflected in the regular pay growth happening this year. Pay is increasing at its fastest rate in nearly 4 years and it does not look to be slowing down anytime soon.
There are still improvements to be made in UK unemployment rates, but we certainly seem to be moving in the right direction which is good news for job hunters!
