Your career goal might be to strike it rich at the best online casino, but that isn’t going to work for everyone. Instead of winning money the hard way, you can find a career in professional sports to strike it rich.
The best way to make millions is to be a professional athlete, but you have to be extremely talented or gifted for that to work. Professional sports teams are worth billions of dollars, though, and you should be looking for a way to make some of that money.
There are five jobs or careers that anyone can get into, but there will be some work involved to get to that point. If you are looking for a new career path, then consider these five careers as a way to get into professional sports.
1. Radio/TV Announcer
Many radio or TV broadcasters are former players of a sport, but that isn’t always the case. Broadcasting is a field that many people are turning away from, and you could find plenty of potential jobs.
This also isn’t a career for which you will have to do a ton of schooling, but a Communications degree will be required. You will have to put in some time at the lower levels, but you could move up pretty quickly if you are good.
Broadcasters at the professional level could make millions, and it would also be a fun job to travel around and watch sports for a living.
2. Trainer or Physical Therapist
If you’ve ever watched a professional sporting event, you have noticed that each team has a massive training staff. There is always a head trainer on staff, but a whole team of assistants and therapists work with each franchise.
This is one career in which you will have to do plenty of additional schooling, but the money will be there when you finally get your job. Beyond the training staff that you see on the court or field, there is also a large group of employees working behind the scenes.
If you plan to get into the healthcare industry, it would be wise to pursue a job with a professional sports team.
3. Vendor
If going to college isn’t in your plans, then you might want to consider a job as a vendor for a professional sports team. This might not seem like a job that you could turn into a “career,” but you could if you live in a city with multiple professional teams.
Tips will play a big role in how much money you make as a vendor, but being a vendor for an extremely popular team will bring in plenty of money.
4. Front Office Employee
Some of the highest paying jobs in professional sports work in the front office. The general manager or team president usually gets the most recognition, but a full team is working together to run the team.
Knowing sports will always be a prerequisite for working in the front office of some kind, but teams are also looking for those that are great in business. Teams are in the business of making money, and it takes good business decisions to get this done.
Working in a front office usually involves starting at a very low position, but advancing is a great chance.
5. Social Media Team
The social media craze has hit professional sports, and every team has a social media department working for them. This is another potential career where you don’t necessarily have to get a college degree to get your foot in the door.
You will have to be extremely creative and know your way around social media, but this is an industry that will continue to grow as time goes on. This could be a high-paying job at some point, especially if the team realizes that you are good at providing content and adding more fans.
