4 Best Practices to Follow While Implementing Remote Employee Tracking

Different people welcome changes in different ways. In a company with talents from different educational and cultural backgrounds, the employees are bound to respond to changes in different ways. Implementing employee remote-tracking may not receive the best response or feedback from the employees, which is why it is important that companies learn the best ways to present it to them to avoid negative criticisms. We would be let you in on the best practices to adopt while introducing the employee tracker software.

    1. Convince them

Although you are the employee and can freely introduce any practice you feel would improve your business while expecting the employees to adopt with less resistance. However, the work will be a lot easier if you make them a part of the decision-making process by convincing them prior to the introduction of the software. This way, you don’t lose their trust and would receive maximum cooperation from them. One way to do this is to prepare and present a demo on how the software works to them in a meeting. A video call can also help offer them the clarifications they need.

    2. Explain how the software can improve the business

Although the company may be more concerned about growing the business, the employees also want to hear how this software would benefit them. You could prepare a slide presenting how the employee tracker software. Some of the benefits to mention include receiving payments without being required to submit invoices, not being underpaid, recognition of productivity, and more insight into their work pattern.

    3. Draft a policy

After the employees have adopted the employee monitoring tool and are ready to start using it, the next step is to draft a policy to avoid potential legal issues. Since they were part of the process, having them adopt the policy won’t be difficult. Ensure the policy is written in plain language, states the tools being used and how regularly they will be used, the nature of the information that would be collected and what would be done with it and how long it will be stored, requests employees ask for explanations and suggest improvements, has legal provisions and a section where employees have to sign after reading.

    4. Drive the adoption of the software

The next step after the policy has been read and accepted by each employee is to drive the adoption. You can start by holding training sessions aimed at teaching the employees how to use the employee tracker software.  Take time to provide clarifications when you notice any of them is confused and always request feedback from them.

Most importantly, companies should ensure they maintain the highest level of transparency while implementing employee remote-tracking because, at this stage, employees are still sceptical and would be quick to get suspicious, if they feel some information is being held back from them. From time to time, show them gratitude and encourage them and see how hard they work to ensure smooth adoption.
