Failure isn’t an option! – Or is it? Watch Kathryn Shultz’s renowned TedTalk, ‘On being wrong’, to discover how failure can help us to be more successful.
We all hate failure. It does not feel good to work really hard, investing a lot of time and effort, for things to fall flat. We like to strive for success and when we achieve it, it feels good!
With all that in mind, you may be surprised to hear that self-proclaimed “wrongologist” Kathryn Schultz advises that failure is actually something we should be embracing and she makes a strong argument for it. Schultz has made a profession of thinking about mistakes, failure and being wrong. She highlights that failure is unavoidable, no one can always be right.
Confronted with the reality that we are all wrong at some point, Schultz encourages us not to punish ourselves for our mistakes but to admit, accept and embrace them. Mistakes could actually generate new and better ideas and lead us down a new path to success.
